Students with Down Syndrome
One-on-one tutoring is available for those who are 18 years and older and offered once a week for 90 minutes. All lessons are individualized to the level of each student, based on the results of an informal assessment performed by the A.C.E. Director and feedback from the volunteer tutors.

Volunteer Tutors
Volunteers are asked to complete an application and participate in an orientation. The student and tutor a matched based on personalities and availability of tutoring times. All lessons are created by the director and implemented by the volunteer. The volunteer only needs to show up and open the student’s academic binder where the work is already prepared.

The academics are a plus for our students! The friendships are even better!

Magaly Diaz is the director of the A.C.E. program. Anyone interested in more information can contact Magaly at mdiaz@dsastx.org or 210-349-4372.

The generosity of donors allows the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas to provide this service for free.
