Welcome to the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas. Whether you are new to San Antonio or have just found out about our organization, we hope that we can provide the support and services to help you and your family. We have a variety of programs and events – come join us!
The DSASTX is excited to participate for its 3rd year in row in the Big Give SA* | a 24-hour day of giving from 12 midnight to 12 midnight | Tuesday, May 3rd.
Your donations make it possible for us to continue programs and events at no charge such as Club UP, the Spring Formal, Fall Festival, Holiday Party, Sib Shops, Nutrition and Art classes, Grupo de Apoyo en Español, and so much more!
This 24-hour day of giving is filled with opportunities for you to win prizes, and your donations significantly impact the future of DSASTX. ANYONE CAN MAKE A DONATION ONLINE BY CLICKING HERE.
The DSASTX will also be hosting an INVITATION ONLY event called "Rockin' Roundup for Down Syndrome." We would love to have everyone attend, but only have a limited number of seats. But everyone will be eligible to win prizes! We ask that after you make a donation, post a photo of your best "western-themed" outfit, using the hashtag #RockinRoundupForDownSyndrome. Take a selfie or take a group shot with your family, your pets, your co-workers, etc., and post it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. There are a lot of fun prizes to be had!
So dust off your hat, shine your boots, and saddle up your horse. We're having a BIG party to GIVE to the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas.
The event portion will be a rootin' tootin' evening kicking off at 6 pm, with a delectable dinner catered by Wiseguys A Chicago Eatery-San Antonio. Then about 7 pm, Chris Thompson, former principal of Madison High School, will welcome everyone and introduce Terri Mauldin who will present our Guests of Honor, David DeSanctis and Milan Chakrobarty. David co-stars in the movie "Where Hope Grows," which is about acceptance, inclusion, and friendship. The movie* will be shown in its entirety from 7:30 to 9 pm.
9 o'clock is Hour 21 of the 24-hour day of giving, which is significant to the DSASTX due to the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
The evening's festivities will end with an opportunity to make a donation and chance to meet-and-greet with David.
DUE TO LIMITED SEATING, RSVPs ARE REQUIRED.

*The Big Give S.A. is part of the national day of giving called Give Local America. The Big Give SA is a 24-hour day of giving. The purpose of this community-wide giving challenge is to increase public awareness of the impact local nonprofits make in addressing our community's social challenges, bring nonprofits and donors together, expand the idea of online giving, connect people to the causes that move them the most and, of course, make giving FUN.
